LINK-PRO aims on providing professional services to and building strong and longstanding relationship with our clients, more than that, we are dedicated to environmental improvements by joining many volunteering and charitable activities. Recently, LINK-PRO signed the Food Grace Charter.
On 15 August 2019, Food Grace held an event about Mid-autumn festival and Link-Pro CPA Limited has been participated and signed a charter about mooncake gift. Environment Bureau Deputy Director Tse Chin Wan, BBS, JP, has been invited as a guest in this event.
A questionnaire is conducted by Food Grace and the result shows that among 257 family, over 50% of them have leftover mooncakes and in average one family leftover 2.9 mooncakes which makes it worse than last year of 2.27 mooncake and Food Grace estimates there would have 2.9M mooncake wastage in last year.
And within the 30 enterprise, 17 of them give 2.5K boxes of mooncakes in total to their employees. Indeed, these enterprises are not willing to receive any mooncake from their business partners. Food Grace would like to encourage them to develop a new gifting culture in order to reduce the food waste.
After the presentation of the result, the representatives of different companies signed on the charter and took a photo together with Environment Bureau Deputy Director.
By the charter, Link-pro CPA Limited will make sure that mooncakes will not be chosen for presents of Mid-Autumn Festival to our business partners. Even if we decide to give it away, we will ask whether business partners would like to receive before we confirm the decision in order to reduce the waste at source. Apart from that, we will enhance our internal communication to foster our behavior of reducing food waste and create a better food treasuring atmosphere. We now have our proactive engagement in mooncake recycling in order to help the people in needs.
There is a mooncake donation event in Food Grace with 30 recycling stations that everyone could donate the mooncakes to the underprivileged communities. For more information about food donation, visit Food Grace.
